Idiot of the year

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. It was such a relief when Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock won his election in Georgia. And we all came together to make it happen. But what of his competitor Mr. Herscel Walker? What’s happened to him?

I have not heard much. And Walker, to the best of my knowledge, has not assumed any more fake identities, such as pretending to be a CIA agent, a dog, or Superman. But he has won an award. I kid you not. And I am here to offer my congratulations to Mr. Walker for this distinctive award only someone like him could win. Herschel Walker has won Deadspin’s “idiot of the year” award. Congratulations Herschel!

Deadspin has an annual idiot of the year contest and recently unveiled the winners. At the list, at Numero Uno, sat Herscel Walker — the biggest idiot of the year. “Each week, the former UGA and NFL running back humiliated himself.”

“He repeatedly doubled down on his unfortunate President Camacho imitation under the intense microscope of running for one of Georgia’s Senate seats, watched his own son turn against him, then lost (twice technically) and returned to a personal life left in shambles.”

That’s telling it like it is, I must say. So yes, Walker has finally made an accomplishment worthy of him. He is now the “: idiot of the year,” and I think this is an award that really fits him well.

I suppose that is what one gets when they pull out fake police badges on stage, pretend to be werewolves, lie about abortions, and generally conduct a campaign of complete insanity. Is it any wonder he came in at number one?

Hopefully, Mr. Walker will never run for office again. Why would he choose to humiliate himself again? In the meantime, Walker can rest easy knowing that, finally, an award worthy of him has been given.
