I told you Trump couldn’t pull this one off

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The fatalists on our side spent all year insisting that if Trump lost the election, he would just refuse to leave office, and somehow magically pull it off. Palmer Report spent all year explaining that if Trump even so much as threatened such a stunt after he lost, he’d merely end up looking foolish.

Sure enough, Trump is now leaking that threat, and we’re all just laughing and rolling our eyes at what an idiotic bluff it is. It’s disgraceful, for sure. But it was never going to have anything more than a 0.0% chance of magically working.

It’s important to keep in mind that whenever the fatalists start hyperventilating about the latest trendy doomsday scenario, they always end up being proven wrong in the end. There have been many, many horrible things that have happened during the Trump era. But the fatalists haven’t correctly predicted a single one of them, because they’re always too busy fretting over obviously impossible scenarios to notice anything that’s actually happening. The first step in being vigilant is to stop listening to the fatalists with their impossible scenarios.
