I see a pattern here

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Today we learned that Chuck Grassley and the GOP are trying to put Brett Kavanaugh accuser Julie Swetnick and frequent Trump nemesis Michael Avenatti in prison on imaginary charges. Yesterday someone tried to assassinate Hillary and Bill Clinton, Barack and Michelle Obama, Maxine Waters and others. Earlier this month Trump’s Saudi allies murdered Washington Post writer and frequent Trump critic Jamal Khashoggi. I see a pattern here.

If Donald Trump and his supporters see you as a prominent enemy or a major impediment to Trump’s greater glory, your freedom – and maybe your life – are now in danger. There is no doubt that Trump is directly in on the GOP plot to frame Swetnick and Avenatti. We don’t know Trump’s level of involvement in the Khashoggi murder, but we do know how tight he is with the Saudi Crown Prince who was behind it. And while there’s no evidence that Trump was involved in these bombs, all evidence suggests that one of Trump’s supporters treated Trump’s tweets like an instruction manual.

So yeah, it’s not difficult to see the general direction that Donald Trump and his supporters are trying to take things in right now. What’s remarkable, though, is just how bad they are at this. If Khashoggi’s murder was supposed to help Trump by silencing one of his more prominent critics, suffice it to say that the murder has already become far more trouble for Trump than it’s worth.

The bombs were part of an extraordinarily inept plan that had no chance of harming most of its intended targets (if the bombs had gone off, other people like mail sorters or first responders would have died); the most likely political fallout is that more people on the left will be motivated to go vote in twelve days. And Grassley’s criminal referral is about to backfire spectacularly on him. The best thing we may have going for us is that Trump and his people are the world’s dumbest henchmen.
