“I know you are but what am I?”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Have you ever known someone who “mimicked” you? Maybe they copied your style of dress or your speaking manner. These people are missing something inside themselves, so they become copycats. At heart, they have no identity, so they will seek to take someone else’s. I believe that Donald Trump is one of these people.

Donald Trump has no identity except for his demons. However, he pretends he does. In reality, his identity is all about false inner voices telling him how great he is, which covers a big and infinite hole that can’t be satisfied with anything or anyone.

I bring this up because Trump — in a desperate attempt at relevance — has attempted to copycat. This did not work.

This has to do with the Mark Meadows texts. These leaked texts are incredibly damaging, and everybody knows it.

I believe Trump knows this too. So he is trying to deflect with a bit of copying.

In a written statement, the lord of the lies has demanded all of the text messages of former President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff.

The reason Trump gives for wanting them is that these texts will show the Obama administration spied on him, his campaign and tried to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power.

Behold the copycat. It didn’t work, as you likely know. The insurrectionist is desperate for relevance. He needs to be the center of attention. He needs this like few others. It’s his most potent drug of choice. And when he doesn’t get it, he unravels.

I believe this “statement” shows Trump is scared. He’s following this story. He knows what’s going on. He’s both scared of the possible repercussions and resentful of the lack of attention. He’s a has-been who never was. He’s been reduced to the status of sad-sack copying away to no avail. He is over.
