Now that convicted felon Donald Trump (and how I love writing that!) has, by a jury of his peers in the great city of New York, been forever proven to have interfered with the 2016 election, we can take a moment to congratulate ourselves. The gaslighters were wrong and we were right all along. We were not crazy, Donald Trump really is a criminal, and it has forever been established in a court of law.

It is unlikely that any of us will ever forget Thursday, May 30, 2024, and what we were doing when we learned that Donald Trump was convicted of 34 criminal felony counts. For my part I heard it as it happened, live from Brian Tyler Cohen, the very split second the individual guilty verdicts were read out. For me it was a moment of enormous relief and unspeakable joy. Equal justice under the law had finally spoken.

So what’s next? Donald Trump now has 41 days (as I write this) to demonstrate beyond all doubt that he has no remorse for the crimes he committed. He has 41 days to prove beyond all doubt that he remains a deadly danger to society. He has 41 days to heap contempt on the judge, the judge’s family, the officers of the court, the Department of Justice and the judicial system in general.

I have no doubt whatsoever that he will do just that. And Judge Merchan will have no choice but to consider Trump’s conduct, the danger he represents to society and his history of violating his gag orders when deciding an appropriate sentence.

This year America will celebrate two Independence Days one week apart. On our second Independence Day, Thursday, July 11, 2024, Donald Trump will be sentenced. I believe that sentence will include significant prison time. Not confinement to one of his properties, but prison. If I’m right, and because he will be incarcerated at the time of the presidential election, Donald Trump will be the first former or current president to be made judicially ineligible to vote for himself.

For justice to be complete there can be no other sentence but hard prison time, measured not in months but in years. That prison sentence must begin immediately. Anything less will allow Trump to continue his malignant plan of stochastic terror and disruption. Therefore I believe Thursday, July 11, 2024, will be Donald Trump’s last day on earth as a free man. He will die in prison. Thursdays are not good days for Donald Trump.

In polls, vast numbers of Republicans have stated that they will not vote for Trump if he’s convicted. His conviction should prove a death knell for his candidacy. Short of extreme election fraud, I believe Trump’s remote chance for victory in November is now gone.

Trump still faces at least three other criminal trials, where even more prison time awaits him. If he lives to finish out his prison sentence for election interference, he will immediately have to begin serving time for his other crimes. I believe the arch criminal Donald Trump is finished, and we just observed the beginning of his spectacular downfall on Thursday. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
