Donald Trump runs smack into his own wall
“President” Donald Trump believes that he has a say in the bipartisan congressional group working on funding proposals. Like most of his beliefs, Humpty Trumpty has not a clue, and will have no wall from which to fall.
In today’s debacle, Trump told reporters, after noting three supposed new caravans were coming, “Nancy Pelosi will be begging for a wall.” Right before Trump uttered those words, however, Speaker Pelosi made it very clear that any deal would not include any money for the border wall, stating, “There’s not going to be any wall money in the legislation.”
Undeterred and delusional, Trump took to Twitter, his favorite place, and tweeted repeatedly that a wall is in place or will be, that murder cases in Mexico rose 33%, and other non sequiturs. Trump tweeted on a variety of subjects, with at least 13 posts in the first half of the day. With respect to the wall, his rants included:
“Large sections of WALL have already been built with much more either under construction or ready to go. Renovation of existing WALLS is also a very big part of the plan to finally, after many decades, properly Secure Our Border. The Wall is getting done one way or the other!”
“More troops being sent to the Southern Border to stop the attempted Invasion of Illegals, through large Caravans, into our Country. We have stopped the previous Caravans, and we will stop these also. With a Wall it would be soooo much easier and less expensive. Being Built!”
“Lets just call them WALLS from now on and stop playing political games! A WALL is a WALL!”
“With Murders up 33% in Mexico, a record, why wouldn’t any sane person want to build a Wall! Construction has started and will not stop until it is finished. @LouDobbs @foxandfriends”
Donald Trump must have forgotten he is the one who wanted to call the wall something else: slats, or peaches (he really suggested this), or whatever anyone wanted to call it. Mexico is a very dangerous place, with CJNG and other ruthless cartels. This raises a question for him: given his new policy of sending Central Americans to Mexico who seek asylum, isn’t he exposing those individuals to the potential violence that they will encounter?
Finally, with each utterance that the wall is already supposedly being built, Humpty Trumpty proves that he does not need funding that he insists upon and has repeatedly told us he has stopped caravans. So, no, Trump, you will not get any funding for the wall. In the meantime, stop sending asylum seekers back to Mexico.
