HUMAN SCUM
To the far too small number of House and Senate Republicans who have belatedly begun to speak out against Donald Trump, listen up, because he has a message for you: you’re human scum. That’s not me talking. Those are Trump’s exact words. That’s what he said about you today, even as a group of his remaining Republican loyalists exposed themselves to potential felony charges by storming a SCIF in a desperate effort at stopping the inevitable.
So, House and Senate Republicans who haven’t yet publicly picked a side, the lines have been drawn. Your options are clear. You can keep coming forward and speaking out against Donald Trump in larger numbers, which by the way makes you statistically more safe from Trump’s attacks. Or you can stick with Trump as he circles the drain, by either actively supporting him and risking going to prison with him, or passively supporting him and risking getting destroyed by the voters in 2020.
If you’re a House Republican, you pretty much have to make your choice now. Trump’s House GOP goons forced the issue with that SCIF stunt today. Either you’re with America or you’re with Donald Trump. You’ll have to vote on articles of impeachment soon enough anyway. Might as well decide now that you’d rather be called “human scum” by a traitor like Trump, than be labeled human scum by mainstream Americans when they vote you out of office.
If you’re a Senate Republican, you have a little more time before you have to vote on impeachment. But your guy with the Super PAC purse strings, Mitch McConnell, has spent the past twenty-four hours throwing Donald Trump under the bus. So you can start following Mitch’s lead, or you can sit back and cower a bit longer. But really, if Donald Trump’s “human scum” tweet doesn’t motivate you to distance yourself from this ticking timebomb and his already-toast presidency, nothing will.
