How the media missed Donald Trump’s health crisis coverup
2020 has had a number of major storylines. The deadly pandemic. The failed response. The economic collapse. The police out of control. The racial unrest. But take a moment to chew on two of the biggest storylines of 2020, and ask yourself why you haven’t heard more about them:
– Based on his public appearances it’s been clear all along that something went very wrong with Trump’s physical and cognitive health after Walter Reed – and he never really recovered from it.
– There’s a grand jury in New York that’s in the process of criminally indicting Trump, as confirmed by several court filings and subpoena battles – meaning Trump is all but certainly going to prison if he loses the election.
The media has spent most of 2020 ignoring both these storylines. The evidence of Trump’s health issues has been right there in plain sight in public appearance after public appearance, but the media mostly didn’t want to touch the story until after one of Trump’s own people started leaking vague details about it, and then Trump began bizarrely denying that he’d had a series of mini strokes. You’d think a sitting President’s huge health failure coverup would have been a mainstream media story before he accidentally confessed to what we’d all already been able to see for the past nine months.
The New York grand jury targeting Trump for indictment is the main reason the Supreme Court battle over Trump’s tax returns took place. But even while covering the court battle, the media largely ignored the fact that the subpoena was proof Trump is being targeted for indictment. You’d think the fact that Trump is going to prison if he loses the election would be relevant to covering the election. But hey, this is why Palmer Report has to exist.
