Donald Trump goes bonkers about how badly he’s losing

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump went into Tuesday’s debate down by eight points nationwide, and needing to win over new supporters in order to climb into contention. Instead he spent the debate behaving like… well, you all watched it. Trump spent Wednesday insisting he somehow won the debate, even though the debate polls say he got slaughtered. Now Trump has moved on to a different tack.

Here’s what Trump tweeted on Wednesday evening: “HIGHEST CABLE TELEVISION RATINGS OF ALL TIME. SECOND HIGHEST OVERALL TELEVISION RATINGS OF ALL TIME. Some day these Fake Media Companies are going to miss me, very badly!!!”

When we first started reading this tweet, we thought Donald Trump was going to try to argue that because the TV ratings were high for his meltdown, it meant he somehow won. But by the end of Trump’s tweet it’s clear that he’s saying something different. He’s tacitly acknowledging that he’s getting blown out of the water, and talking about how much the media is going to regret it after he loses and is off the stage.

This is an interesting turn of events for Donald Trump, who seems to be finally realizing on some level that he is indeed on track to lose. Yet still, instead of trying to turn things around by behaving like a decent person and targeting new potential supporters, he’s bitterly ranting about how everyone is going to miss him when he’s gone. No we won’t. Vote him out.
