House Republicans seem headed for witness protection
Earlier this week House Republican Nancy Mace showed up to work wearing a Scarlet Letter on her shirt. Then House Republican Harriet Hageman was seen holding a whip. Then on Friday, House Republican Brian Mast showed up to work wearing a military outfit from another country.
Then House Republican George Santos decided to top them all by carrying a baby around in the halls of Congress that he admitted was “not yet” his, only to ditch the baby and start running down the hallway while screaming the F-word. No word yet on whether Santos’ behavior is a violation of the conditions of his bail.
This is all somehow really happening. It’s what happens when a criminal clown like Donald Trump encourages right wing losers to send even bigger right wing losers to represent them in Congress, and then eventually that gang of right wing losers becomes so unmanageable that they oust their own leader for no reason and then start dressing up in costumes and running around with mystery babies.
What do these folks think they’re even doing at this point? Have they realized they have no future in politics and are instead auditioning for a local theater troupe? Are they trying to get the jump on Halloween in case they’re expelled before then? Are they in disguise in the hope of getting into some kind of witness protection? And whose baby was that?
As House Republicans’ behavior continues to get more embarrassing, it’s important that we keep mocking them for it. It’s the most effective way to make sure persuadable voters out there understand that the Republicans are a joke and thus incapable of governing, and should be replaced with Democrats in 2024. We have to keep putting this kind of effective messaging out there. Thankfully, House Republicans keep giving us an endless supply of effective source material.
