We often hear about how the entire Republican House is supposedly in lock step with Donald Trump. But while it’s true that there are zero decent Republicans left in the House, they’re not all aligned. Many of them have their own corrupt or unhinged agendas that don’t line up with Trump’s wishes.

For instance, House Republicans have spent the past week vowing to gut Medicaid funding. It’s difficult to figure out which side of this issue Trump is on, because he keeps getting confused and changing his answer each time he’s asked. But suffice it to say that there isn’t the support within the Republican House for Medicaid cuts that we’ve been hearing.

To that end, House Republicans just canceled their own planned budget resolution vote for tonight. The only reason to cancel such a vote is that they don’t have the votes. But they obviously thought they had the votes when they scheduled the vote. Now they don’t. Things re just that chaotic on the Republican side. But then that’s to be expected when their leader, Donald Trump, is too deep into dementia to provide an ounce of leadership.
