House Republicans are in complete disarray tonight

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

House Republicans just ousted their own Speaker for no good reason and still can’t figure out how to replace him. That alone would qualify House Republicans as being in disarray. But things have somehow gotten even worse for them in the day since.

House Democrat Jasmine Crockett posted this summary of how Tuesday went for House Republicans:

1) George Santos got a whopping 23 count superseding indictment, but somehow survived expulsion all while McCarthy was & still is only person to be expelled from his speakership.

2) Nancy Mace openly wore the scarlet letter on her chest & I thought she was embracing the video that’s been circulating of her, but nope, seems like she may not have known that the A stands for Adulterer… (Reading is fundamental)

3) Finally, Caucus Dems had our organizational meeting and unified behind a speaker candidate in less than 10 mins… including the nominating and acceptance speeches

This is a total crisis for House Republicans. They effectively had no leader to begin with, and now they literally don’t have one. They’ve got members getting indicted for identity theft, and members who appear to think they’re auditioning for a local theater production. Meanwhile, House Democrats are taking care of business. Let’s make sure the Democrats have the majority in 2024 so we can get things back on the right track.
