House Republican James Comer just admitted it

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3760 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.

At no point in 2023 or 2024 have House Republicans had the votes to shut down the government or to bring impeachment charges against President Joe Biden. This has been obvious for quite some time now.

For all the talk we’ve heard from certain House Republicans who insisted that these things were going to happen, neither thing ever happens. And that means there are House Republicans, presumably in toss-up districts, who are afraid of losing their seats in November and are thus quietly keeping such things from happening.

When House Republicans brought impeachment charges against Biden cabinet member Alejandro Mayorkas earlier this month, it was a tacit admission that they couldn’t lay a glove on Biden and were instead going after Mayorkas to make it look like they were “doing something.”

Sure enough, House Republican James Comer is now publicly acknowledging that there just aren’t the votes to bring an impeachment process against President Biden. Of course, as Palmer Report has been pointing out all along, there were pretty obviously never enough votes to impeach Biden. Which raises the question of why the entire media (on the left and right) spent all of 2023 going along with House Republicans’ empty Biden impeachment threat as if it were a real thing. The media surely knew better, but wanted to get ratings out of pretending Biden was going to be impeached.
