House Republican Elise Stefanik is a walking disaster

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Do you know what saddens me deeply? Women not looking out for other women. Women have been through some hard times, not just lately but through history. And now, in the time of Republican misogyny, women’s rights have never been so important. And it is imperative that women stick together.

Unfortunately, some women choose to pit their own ruthless needs over any fidelity to their fellow sisters. I find these women repugnant. I find Elise Stefanik repugnant.

Stefanik is an enemy of truth and empathy. She’s chosen to turn her back on her fellow women for a petty chance of sucking up to corruption and possibly advancing her career in the process.

Stefanik has come out and blamed Democrats for abortion being a polarizing issue. In a rather insane rant, Stefanik lashed out at Democrats, accusing them of “forcing” their views on the American people.

Right. Like this abhorrent woman doesn’t know that most of the country wants abortion to remain legal. It is angering, but more than that, it’s also sad.

Stefanik has not stopped hitting Democrats on abortion, but there’s more. She claimed on Steve Bannon’s podcast that she was “canceled” by Harvard. This is not true. Nobody has taken her degree away. This is all in her head. Stefanik is also lashing out at the DOJ for daring to hold her savior, Donald Trump, to account. She lashed out at Tish James, calling her ‘deranged.”

I do not doubt that this is ALL carefully scripted, to impress her leaders. This woman is ambitious. She is also repugnant. Elise is very repugnant, and her repugnance is only getting worse. It hurts me when I see women who are in positions of power — who have the ability to do good — take this route.

Stefanik was at one time a moderate Republican. It makes one wonder what she sees when she gazes into the mirror. Does she see herself for what she is — a sellout? Stefanik has let all her constituents down but especially women who undoubtedly expected more from her at one time. Sadly, there is nothing more inside the woman. There is only the non-ending repugnance.
