House Republican Elise Stefanik goes full snowflake
I’ve never really liked the term “snowflakes.” For me, it just seems silly. Snowflakes fall in the winter, and they’re beautiful. But now, yet another word has been destroyed by MAGA terminology.
It was the world of Maga that brought the new use of the term into being. A Snowflake is supposed to be someone highly sensitive, someone who can’t take a little teasing, someone who cannot bear to see any laughter when it comes to their own persons.
SNOWFLAKES! I take an opportunity to use this word today — against the GOP themselves. Republicans are the ultimate in snowflake material. Just ask Saturday Night Live. You see, SNL did a skit over the weekend, as SNL is wont to do. In it, they made fun of New York Rep. Elise Stefanik.
This was because of the hearing on antisemitism. There was an exchange between Stefanik and University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill. Magill waffled on calling out Antisemitism against Jews, and the country, including myself, were outraged. Magill resigned.
But SNL, never one to miss an opportunity, did a bit in which Stefanik’s high ambitions were mocked. “I’ll turn it over to MAGA superstar Elise Stefanik from New York, who’s been pacing the hallways listening to Lose Yourself by Eminem.”
“Am I winning this hearing? Someone pinch me.” It was a funny bit done by COMEDIANS. Only SOMEONE (Could it be the GOP?) was not amused. That might be why republicans are now demanding an apology from Saturday Night Live, proving that where snowflakes are concerned, it’s a blizzard down at GOP headquarters.
Republicans took to Twitter to label SNL “Disgusting” and demand an apology. Naturally, most took SNL’s side — with people stunned that THIS is what the GOP is choosing to focus on: “This is what you’re focused on? Y’all are such whiny snowflakes.”
Republicans really do need to take a chill pill. SNL mocks EVERYONE including our side. You don;t see US screaming about the unfairness of it all, do you now? The GOP has GOT to develop a sense of humor, and while they’re at it, get themselves some thick skin. Perhaps someone can buy them some for the holidays. SNL has been here, making fun of everyone and everything for what seems like forever now. But this IS the GOP we’re talking about. Once a snowflake, ALWAYS a snowflake.
