Now that Kamala Harris is pulling ahead in the polls, what kind of impact does this have on down ticket races? It’s not difficult to do the math. A rising tide generally floats all boats, and it has the potential to have a big impact on the competitive House and Senate races. Suddenly a two point Republican lead in a competitive House district becomes a one point Democratic lead, and so on.

As it turns out, this isn’t just wishful thinking on our part. Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is reportedly telling his fellow House Republicans that the “numbers are ominous when it comes to the 2024 House majority. The most vulnerable House Republicans in the “toss up” races are now in particular danger of losing their seats.

That’s why it’s so important that we continue to focus on the twenty-two House races that are rated “toss up.” These are the races that the proven nonpartisan experts expect will come down to a point or two either way. These are also the races that are so close, we can change the outcome just by donating and volunteering.

So let’s take advantage of House Republicans’ bad fortune and make a serious run at helping the Democratic House candidates in the twenty-two most competitive House races.
