House Democrats have figured out the formula
From day one, Palmer Report urged House Democrats to push lunatics like Majorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert out front, then force all the other House Republicans to officially side with or against the lunatics, and then use it against all of them in the 2022 midterms. It’s good to see that’s exactly what House Democrats are doing.
Tomorrow each House Republican will have to alienate the far right by voting to remove Greene from committees, or alienate moderates by voting against removing her. Either way, each House Republican loses some voters in 2022. Democrats can use this to flip some narrow races.
If Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has an ounce of leadership in him, he’ll remove Greene from committees himself, so his members don’t have to participate in a no-win vote over it. But he hasn’t shown an ounce of leadership yet. If House Republicans had any sense, they’d replace him for leaving them in this kind of lurch. But they’re all deer in the headlights. They deserve each other. Meanwhile, House Democrats are winning.
