Yesterday, Paul Manafort not only sold out Donald Trump in hardcore fashion, he put it in writing. Manafort cut a plea deal which formally included an agreement to cooperate with prosecutors in any and all investigations, including the criminal probes into Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr, Jared Kushner and others. So how did Trump respond to the nightmarish news for him? By launching into an hours long late night meltdown – about Puerto Rico and President Obama.

After the Manafort news broke, Donald Trump went several hours without tweeting anything, aside from the various Hurricane Florence related tweets that his staffers were posting to his Twitter account. Then Donald finally decided to erupt, and he decided that all he cared about was doubling down on his recent lie about the death toll in Puerto Rico. He began by posting a surreal quote about the death toll from – of all people – Geraldo Rivera. No, really.

Trump decided that doubling down on his lie about the Puerto Rico death toll just once a night wasn’t enough, so he went on to post three more asinine tweets about the matter, quoting lowlife racist Lou Dobbs in the process. To give you a glimpse of how far off the rails it was, one portion of Trump’s rant went like this: “FIFTY TIMES LAST ORIGINAL NUMBER – NO WAY!” That’s when Trump decided that his only way to avoid prison was to pick a fight with Obama.

Around 11pm, Donald Trump posted this juvenile tweet, which he credited to Laura Ingraham, the Fox News host who attacked the survivors of the Parkland shooting: “When President Obama said that he has been to “57 States,” very little mention in Fake News Media. Can you imagine if I said that…story of the year!” At this point Trump had been ranting for hours about sheer garbage, while never once mentioning Paul Manafort – suggesting that he has no idea what to say or do about it.
