All of America is being held hostage by one compromised loser named Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announced on Twitter today that he won’t be attending the upcoming economic summit in Saudi Arabia after all. This is the right move, and I’m glad it’s happening. But it’s not a move that I can award the Trump regime any credit for, and that’s for two specific reasons.

This would have been a bold and righteous move if it had happened a week or two ago – but it didn’t. The minute it became clear that the government of Saudi Arabia had no explanation for why Jamal Khashoggi entered its consulate and never left, business leaders from around the world began pulling out of this summit, either because they felt it was the morally right thing to do, or because they simply didn’t want to be seen as associating with violent monsters. They also began putting their planned investments with Saudi Arabia on hold.

Throughout all of this, Donald Trump has continued to insist that Mnuchin would still attend the summit on behalf of the United States. Trump kept pointing to a $110 billion arms deal between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. This wouldn’t be a justification for doing business with murderers even if it were true, which it isn’t, because the deal is only a fraction of that size. In addition, the U.S. holds nearly all the leverage in its relationship with Saudi Arabia, which is locked into continuing to buy our military technology for awhile, for the same reason you can’t just switch from one smartphone platform to another without having to buy new apps.

Ask any military expert, and they’ll tell you that the U.S. holds all the cards here. The trouble is that Donald Trump, who is the brokest failed “billionaire” of all time, is so personally in debt to the Saudi regime, he holds no cards here. So the mighty United States is cowering to a two-bit thug regime, because it’s illegitimate “President” owes money to bad people. That alone calls for impeachment and immediate removal.
