What’s the deal with Hope Hicks now?

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last month, multiple major media outlets reported that former White House Communications Director Hope Hicks was planning to take a new job in the Donald Trump administration, after having abruptly resigned two years ago. It was widely believed that her new job was simply going to be to cheer Trump up and keep him calm as things unravel.

Considering the sheer display of madness that Donald Trump put on during his press conference on Friday, it had a lot of people asking if Hope Hicks could hurry up and get started with her new “calming Trump down” job. But then last night MSNBC reported on-air that Hicks has instead already started her new job at the White House. Oops.

This is what Donald Trump looks like when he has someone on staff whose job is specifically to try to nudge him toward behaving in psychologically competent fashion? Really? How would Trump be behaving if Hope Hicks weren’t there? And why on earth did she go back to work at this flaming dumpster fire of a failing administration, two years after escaping it unscathed?
