The ongoing surreal fallout from Hope Hicks’ resignation

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Hope Hicks was accidentally running the Office of the President. Maybe not every plan, maybe not every phone call, maybe not every meeting, but Hope was involved in some pretty serious decision making. Hope Hicks is 29 years old. She graduated from college, worked in “modeling” and then went to work for the Trump family. Her work experience was not ‘government-related’. With those qualifications, Hope Hicks became the White House Communications Director for President Donald Trump. Most said that Hope could calm Trump down.

But now she’s gone. The last kiss and an awkward moment before the last handshake were televised. And we are experiencing Trump without Hope.
Each day, Mueller gets closer to Trump and Significant Others in his voluminous investigation. There are immediate crises in Syria and Israel requiring attention. There is civil protest in numbers that have never been larger. Qualified support staff is scarce. And there’s Stormy Daniels.

It is apparent that Trump slept through history and business classes. Trump could not pass the US Citizen Test/2018. It is more apparent every day that Trump’s only desire was to be ELECTED President of the United States. He did not want to actually BE the President. He probably knows he is not qualified. He can’t pay attention to anything longer than a tweet. He speaks and thinks in slogans, not policies. His approaches to every issue are ill informed reactions with little attention to consequences. Trump is coming undone before our very eyes.

Now we find ourselves in a provoked trade war because Donald Trump was so upset that Hope Hicks left her job. Emotional instability, without the help of a young woman to perform her “job,” should be a good reason to question his abilities.
