Donald Trump hits the panic button as it all goes wrong for him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday the news broke that Donald Trump had finally seen his own internal poll numbers about the 2020 campaign, meaning he finally learned just how badly he’s on track to lose. Anything can happen, but Trump is in historically terrible shape right now when it comes to reelection. Trump reportedly went so far as to threaten legal action against his own current campaign manager because of his low polls.

So what’s Trump doing about it? He’s making up a cheap excuse to take a trip to Arizona and Ohio next week, according to Marketwatch. It’s not difficult to figure out what he’s doing. Of all the presidential swing states, Ohio is the one where Trump did the best in 2016, but now the polls say he’s slightly losing there. And while Arizona is considered a red state in presidential elections, the polls say Trump is losing there too.

Under normal circumstances it would actually make sense for Donald Trump to go campaign in the states where he’s bleeding the worst. But he can’t do any campaign rallies because of the pandemic. So he’s predictably making up fake excuses to visit these states anyway, even though the trips won’t do anything to gain him any additional votes.

Donald Trump is presumably hoping to find a way to convince himself that he’s somehow not actually losing these states, because he’s not about trying to win, he’s about trying to delusionally convince himself he’s not losing. What a loser.
