Herschel Walker refuses to stop his game of cops and robbers. In his late statement, Walker insists he really is a police officer. Walker, posing with Johnson County Sheriff Greg Rowland, proudly spoke about his love for our heroes in blue.

I guess that means himself as well. Walker sure seems to love talking about playing a cop. He has talked about being a police officer far more than being a Senator. Walker also claimed he has the “right” to work with the police in getting things done. “I never embellish,” Walker also declared, sending the internet into torrents of laughter.

So the question is: what next? Will Walker make any arrests? Will he pull out some handcuffs next, saying they were a gift? And will he go to his next campaign event in a police car? Walker also claims he did write that check to his ex-girlfriend, but it wasn’t for an abortion, leading everyone to wonder — what WAS it for?

Did Walker just feel like giving a random ex-girlfriend cash that day? Was it payment for a police scanner? What was that check for? If he knows (and I say “if” because Walker, at times, doesn’t appear to know anything, including his chosen occupation), he’s not saying.

Meanwhile, Senator Warnock is acting — well — sane. He is campaigning, answering voters’ questions, and basically acting like a candidate while the other side’s “candidate” happily tricycles around town posing with Police badges.

So, if everyone who has the means to do it can help Senator Warnock over the finish line, great. Officer Walker would be as fake a Senator as he is a Police Officer and that you can take to the bank.
