Here’s the thing about this Raphael Warnock vs. Herschel Walker race

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There are some early polls that give Herschel Walker a slight advantage over incumbent Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock in the Georgia race for U.S. Senate, and this has set off a lot panic, hand wringing, and doomsday prognostications.

But I’m not panicking about any such polls, and neither should you. Herschel Walker enters with the greater degree of name recognition in Georgia (due to his historic college football career there) despite being the challenger. The more this campaign goes on, and Walker opens his idiotic mouth about politics, the worse his numbers will get. And the more his ugly domestic violence scandals get harped on by the media, the worse his numbers will get.

It’ll be a tight race, but it was a tight race getting Warnock elected to begin with. Walker enters with a lot of personal goodwill with Georgia voters that goes back decades, but his deranged views and incoherent stances will quickly turn off voters in the middle once this race reaches a stage where average Georgians are paying attention. In the meantime, if you’re worried about this race, instead of fretting over it, go campaign for Warnock (even if you don’t live in Georgia, you can volunteer remotely), or send him a campaign donation.
