Here’s the crazy thing about Donald Trump’s second impeachment

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The House has filed articles of impeachment against Donald Trump today, meaning that unless Mike Pence invokes the 25th Amendment by tomorrow, Trump will find himself impeached again on Wednesday.

Here’s the crazy part. Trump’s current impeachment will only be the fourth we’ve ever done against a President. Two out of the four will have been against Trump. We’ve had impeachment for centuries in this country, and yet half of our impeachments will have been against Trump. That’s just how terrible he is, and how much he makes every previous U.S. President look like a boy scout in comparison.

Donald Trump is also the only U.S. President known to have ever been in danger of being forcibly removed via the 25th Amendment due to a criminal level of psychological unfitness. Trump will also end up being the only former U.S. President to be criminally charged, and the only one to end up in prison. In hindsight, it was a bad idea to take the worst person in the country and put him in charge of the country.
