Here’s some irony for you

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Hey, who remembers what Trump got impeached for the first time? Permit me to jog your memories. Remember the “perfect phone call” to the president of Ukraine, the one that first made Volodymyr Zelenskyy a household name? Remember when Trump “hinted” that unless Zelenskyy announced an investigation into Joe Biden (not open one, just announce one) then he, Trump, would withhold military aid to Ukraine? Remember how every pearl-clutching, whataboutism-screeching yard ape in MAGAland insisted that TRUMP DID NOTHING WRONG, that he wasn’t extorting anyone?

You do? Well guess what? Trump just suggested that Congress do the same thing! That’s right, Saturday night in Erie, Pennsylvania, smack in the middle of one of his Nuremberg-style rallies, Donald Trump called for Republicans in Congress to hold back economic support to Ukraine until the White House cooperates with their probes into the business dealings of President Biden and his son Hunter.

Permit me to quote the self-incriminating fool directly. Trump said, “Congress should refuse to authorise a single additional shipment of our depleted weapons stockpiles … to Ukraine until the FBI, DOJ and IRS hand over every scrap of evidence they have on the Biden Crime Family’s corrupt business dealings.” In other words, he’s saying that Congress should punish Ukraine if the FBI, DOJ and IRS don’t hand over damning evidence of Biden wrongdoing.

What that means in practical terms is, since no such damning evidence exists, the FBI, DOJ and IRS is going to have to manufacture it. That they will not do, of course, so Ukraine is going to suffer.

Of course, Trump picked Ukraine as his whipping boy because Vladimir Putin hates Ukraine and Putin is Trump’s personal god. Trump could have just as easily asked Congress to withhold aid somewhere else. He specifically targeted Ukraine because he wants Putin to win there anyway.

But the point finally is this. In his first impeachment, Trump and his pathetic apologists denied that Trump meant to extort the Ukrainian president. That he was just mooting a hypothetical that he had no intention of following through with. Well he just did it again, only this time he spelled it out in no uncertain terms. In effect he said to Congress, “I would like you to do us a favour though, by withholding any more military aid to Ukraine until the FBI, the DOJ and the IRS come up with the goods on Biden.”

I tell you all this, brothers and sisters, so you can take this little factoid straight to your MAGA Uncles who swore to you over Thanksgiving dinner that Trump didn’t mean what you said he meant during the first impeachment. Well he jolly well did mean it, because he just did it again.

Proving once more that sooner or later Donald Trump confesses to every crime he ever committed. Because he is a fool. Because he is a blabber-mouthed, undisciplined criminal moron. Let there be no more talk of how Donald Trump has a master plan that’s going to thwart justice and bring him to ultimate triumph. Let the record show, once and for all time, that Donald Trump is an inadequate, talent-free imbecile.

I have a humble suggestion to Jack Smith. When you finally get Trump in a courtroom, Mr Smith, create a compilation video of every self-incriminating thing Donald Trump ever said, juxtaposed with every denial. Let it be known to the world that Donald Trump commits crimes, he denies he commits crimes, and then he confesses to the crimes he so obviously committed. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
