Here’s how we know Jack Smith is taking this seriously
Although Donald Trump may not take his classified document scandal seriously, many other people are. And one person in particular is taking it VERY seriously. That person is Jack Smith.
Reportedly Smith and his team are demanding answers on how one box of documents that Trump stole, which contained classified documents, ended up scattered among other things like presidential schedules.
This is of particular importance because a Trump staffer scanned the contents of the box. And Smith wants to know why. Paula Reid, who wrote about this for CNN, explains: “A young staffer was instructed to scan the context of this box. She scanned it with her phone and put the documents on a laptop.”
Yes, I could see that might be an issue. After all, it is not exactly how classified documents are supposed to be handled. Reportedly the DOJ recently sat down with the staffer to ask some tough questions. And Smith and his team also want to know how that particular box eluded the justice department for so long. After all, it was just handed over in December.
“Now they have the laptop and the box of documents and a thumb drive” Paula Reid continued. “And we learned in recent weeks they sat down with the staffer to ask what exactly happened here?”
Good question. And one we’d all like the answer to. And we will get that answer, among other answers. In the meantime, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have ALSO been subpoenaed by Smith. Jack Smith has wasted no time and is moving aggressively, quickly and confidently — all probably to Donald Trump’s dismay.
