Here we go: Republican Senator confirms Donald Trump committed “impeachable offenses”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Democrats have publicly hinted that a number of unnamed Republicans in the House and Senate might join them in their effort to impeach Donald Trump for inciting the domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol building. Now one of those Republicans has identified himself.

Republican Senator Pat Toomey appeared on CNN this evening and said “I do think the president committed impeachable offenses.” While Toomey could always find an excuse to back out of voting to convict Trump, he wouldn’t be sticking his neck out like this for no reason; he appears to be strongly leaning toward supporting impeachment. This comes after Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski called on Trump to resign.

Democratic Congressman Ted Lieu stated on CNN today that he’s in the process of lining up one or more Republican co-sponsors for the impeachment effort. Lieu didn’t mention any names. However, Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger is publicly calling for Trump’s removal.
