Here comes the E. Jean Carroll vs Donald Trump appeal

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump was found liable for sexually assaulting E. Jean Carroll to the tune of an $83.3 million judgment, but Trump managed to delay the payment by posting bond while appealing. While there’s a belief out there that things can simply be appealed indefinitely, it doesn’t work that way.

In fact the courts just announced that oral arguments in the Trump-Carroll appeal will begin on September 6th, just five weeks from now. Carroll responded to the news by tweeting “I AM READY!!!!”

If Trump loses this appeal, he’ll indeed be on the hook for $83.3 million dollars. Of course he can try to appeal the appeals court verdict. But there are a finite number of steps Trump can take in that regard, and once he runs out of them, Carroll will be able to begin collecting on the money.

This is further setting the stage for September to be a blockbuster month. The Trump-Carroll appeal will begin on September 6th. Then Trump’s debate with Kamala Harris is scheduled for September 10th, so we’ll either see the debate happen or we’ll see Harris do a town hall with an empty podium for Trump. Then on September 18th Trump is set to be sentenced in his New York criminal trial. So Trump is looking at financial losses, political losses, and maybe even a prison sentence before September is over.
