Here comes Jack Smith AGAIN

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Late last week, the media began buzzing about fake electors testifying before a grand jury about their role in attempts to overturn the 2020 election results. Media also reported that the fake electors who agreed to testify have been granted limited immunity in exchange for their testimony. While we don’t yet know who the two fake electors are, we do know that Jack Smith is working on Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election. That became even more evident with the announcement that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger will be interviewed by Jack Smith’s investigators.

We all know about Trump’s “perfect” call to Raffensperger, wherein he asked him to “find” enough votes to be declared the winner of Georgia. The transcript of that call reveals Trump sounding like a petulant child: “So tell me, Brad, what are we going to do? We won this election, and it’s not fair to just take it away from us like this.” Someone get his blankey and pacifier. As NBC News reported, the state of Georgia reaffirmed President Biden’s win several times after the election, recounting ballots three times. This investigation goes far beyond that call alone.

According to Washington Post, the investigation involves ad and fundraising pitches, calling the election “fraudulent,” as well as the slate of fake electors they planned to use to change the votes in seven swing states. Those fraud claims were devised and championed by a handful of lawyers, but they didn’t do that on their own. Trump dispatched them. It would make no sense whatsoever for lawyers to get involved in such nonsense without marching orders. WaPo also related that Smith’s team has “questioned multiple witnesses” about these lawyers and their involvement with the fake electors scheme, and WaPo puts Giuliani at the top of the list for coordinating a scheme that was doomed to fail from the beginning.

As part of that scheme, Jenna Ellis urged state legislatures to reject the results, and Eastman started the nonsense that Mike Pence could interfere in certification. Kenneth Chesebro wrote strategy memos for the fake electors, while Jeffrey Clark pushed fraud claims while he was part of the DOJ. And Biden is weaponizing the DOJ? According to WaPo, Smith’s team now has some of that messaging, especially as it relates to fundraising. Even members of Trump’s team voiced skepticism at the “fraudulent election” story. Specifically, Jason Miller wrote to one of the campaign firms: “The campaign’s own legal team and data experts cannot verify the bullshit being beamed down from the mothership.” Smith has that email.

Trump was so used to doing whatever he wanted and twisting scenarios to make things work out in his favor. Well, the presidency of the United States is not one of Trump’s failed businesses, so things aren’t going as planned. Now, his foolish words are coming back to bite him in the ass-just like his foolish words on that tape. His attempts to color that conversation as anything other than what it was is laughable, but we all know who’s not laughing.
