“There will be hell to pay” – House Democrats come out swinging over Robert Mueller

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. Last night we learned that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly preparing to issue his report about Donald Trump as soon as next week. Palmer Report spelled out this morning why this is very probably good news, but even if so, there will still be some work to be done to take Trump down. Meanwhile, House Democrats aren’t taking any chances.

Of the various House committees that are central to investigating Donald Trump, two of the most crucial are the House Judiciary Committee and the House Intelligence Committee. Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell sits on them both, and it turns out he has something to say about the developing Robert Mueller news.

Congressman Swalwell tweeted this: “If Mueller says he’s done and was allowed to follow the evidence, then let’s see the report. America will welcome it. But if he’s been forced to stop investigating, there will be hell to pay. We’re not powerless anymore.” He then underlined his point by pinning the tweet to the top of his profile.

We don’t think there’s cause for concern here. Even if something is wrong here, Robert Mueller has surely planned for every contingency, particularly the predictable scenario in which Donald Trump feebly tries to shut down the investigation at the last minute. But it’s good to know that House Democrats are in position to come out swinging over Mueller, and they’re more than willing to do so if necessary.
