Gym Jordan
When Gym Jordan speaks, we all cringe. That is because of two things. First is the fact that his voice is a constant threat to the ears of the American people. The second is that he usually doesn’t have anything at all interesting to say.
But Gym did manage to do one interesting thing this week. He came up with a creative idea not to vote for marriage equality. And this “idea” may have been his stupidest statement yet. As the House got ready to vote on the Respect for Marriage Act, Gym reportedly was frantically begging some of his colleagues to vote no.
His reason? The fact that Democrats would want to vote on this at all is proof of their ongoing desire to “delegitimize the Supreme Court.”
We often wait for Gym to say something stupid, and he never disappoints us — ever. Gym argued that with this vote, the Democrats seek to “intimidate” members of the Supreme Court.
As MSNBC puts it: “In other words, this was a rare example of a federal lawmaker arguing that other federal lawmakers shouldn’t pursue a legislative priority through federal lawmaking.”
So will that be the GOP’s platform this November? Don’t legislate? It certainly is an interesting take on things. Should the House just stop voting for ANYTHING because they just might hurt Clarence Thomas’s feelings? Should they walk on eggshells to avoid getting Justice and witch admirer Samual Alito in a tizzy?
This is one of the all-time stupidest arguments against voting for any one piece of legislation I’ve ever heard of. Gym needs to go on a journey to find his missing brain. Assuming he ever had one to begin with, that is.
The loud-mouthed Congressman has been a constant drain on human intelligence since he became a member of Congress. This particular argument really does take the cake and shows why Gym Jordan is a regular punchline for comedians, politicians and people everywhere.
