Donald Trump has berserk meltdown about Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer after he nearly gets her killed
Despite Donald Trump’s best effort to dismantle it, the FBI is still intact enough to have foiled a scary far right domestic terrorist conspiracy to kidnap or murder Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. The plot was serious enough that thirteen people have now been arrested, with more expected.
Of course Trump helped set this entire plot in motion when he tweeted “Liberate Michigan!” several weeks ago, encouraging his far right supporters to go after Whitmer, who had dared to enforce coronavirus safety precautions. Now that Trump’s violent words have once again resulted in a violent plot, you might think Trump would defend Whitmer, or at least sit this one out. You’d be wrong. Trump tweeted this tonight:
Governor Whitmer of Michigan has done a terrible job. She locked down her state for everyone, except her husband’s boating activities. The Federal Government provided tremendous help to the Great People of Michigan. My Justice Department and Federal Law Enforcement announced today that they foiled a dangerous plot against the Governor of Michigan. Rather than say thank you, she calls me a White Supremacist—while Biden and Democrats refuse to condemn Antifa, Anarchists, Looters and Mobs that burn down Democrat run cities I do not tolerate ANY extreme violence. Defending ALL Americans, even those who oppose and attack me, is what I will always do as your President! Governor Whitmer—open up your state, open up your schools, and open up your churches!
To be clear, the muted statements against violence buried in the second half of Donald Trump’s tweet don’t count for anything. He’s starting off by attacking Whitmer. He’s seemingly trying to justify the deranged reasoning that these domestic terrorists used for trying to kill her. And in that final sentence, Trump is essentially calling on his supporters to make another attempt on Whitmer’s life. Trump should be arrested for this tweet alone.
