Last week Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr condemned Donald Trump for his antics, calling him a “psychopath.” Now, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is adding his voice to the fray, calling Trump “deranged” and asserting that Trump has no brain.

Popovich said this to The Nation last night: “If Trump had a brain, even if it was 99 percent cynical, he would come out and say something to unify people. But he doesn’t care about bringing people together. Even now. That’s how deranged he is. It’s all about him. It’s all about what benefits him personally. It’s never about the greater good.”

Popovich and Kerr have criticized Donald Trump before. But at this point they’re not remotely holding back. It’s a microcosm for how the nation at large now feels. Protesters are in the streets, and outside the White House, to protest racism in general, police brutality in particular, and the role that Trump has played in making to all a lot worse.
