Greg Abbott has COVID – and he may have just given it to a whole lot of his supporters
Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who has worked so hard to keep his state unsafe from COVID, has announced today that he now has COVID himself. He’s fully vaccinated, so he’ll likely be okay. But the same may not be able to be said about a number of people who recently attended an event with him.
Last night Abbott posted this tweet:
Another standing room only event in Collin County tonight.
Thank y’all for the enthusiastic reception.
Let's keep this energy up and send a message that Texas values are NOT up for grabs in 2022. pic.twitter.com/wlPZyrHpx3

That’s right, Abbott was in a room yesterday with a whole bunch of his supporters, with none of them wearing masks, and at least some of them surely unvaccinated. It’s not clear if Abbott caught COVID at the event, or if Abbott already had COVID when he attended the event. Either way, that event could go down as a super spreader event.
