Greenland strikes back

Greenland has been part of Europe for more than 500 years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Today it is an autonomous territory in the Kingdom of Denmark. On Friday, Greenland’s youngest Prime Minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, 33, was sworn in, just hours before America’s dumbest Vice President, JD Vance, arrived on the island nation.

Nielsen’s first act as the new Premier was to stand firm against the United States and Donald Trump’s idiotic proclamations of aggression. “President Trump says that the United States is getting Greenland,” Nielsen said. “Let me be clear: the United States won’t get that. We do not belong to anyone else. We determine our own future.”

Hard though it is to believe, Greenland today is in danger of a military attack from the United States. Trump has now reiterated that shameful, craven threat unequivocally. During an interview with NBC on Saturday, Trump said: “We’ll get Greenland. Yeah, 100%.” He further said there’s a “good possibility that we could do it without military force … I don’t take anything off the table.” In other words, military force is on the table.

In his first press conference as leader, in his home town of Nuuk, Nielsen called for political unity to combat these malign external influences. His message was clear: “At a time when we as a people are under pressure, we must stand together.”

Quoting his uncouth president’s putridly familiar style, Trump’s Veep had this to say in reply: “Our message to Denmark is very simple, you have not done a good job by the people of Greenland. You have underinvested in the people of Greenland and you have underinvested in the security architecture of this incredible, beautiful landmass.”

The overwhelming majority of Greenland’s population of 56,583 people stands firm against the criminal hegemony of the United States. One cannot help but admire Greenland’s stance against their former ally turned craven bully.

Needless to say, should Trump decide to attack their country and seize control, they won’t stand a chance by themselves. But Greenland is a NATO member and, as such, NATO must defend it should it come under attack, even if that attack is launched by another NATO member.

For its nearly 250 year history, the United States of America has been the good guy in international conflict. Today it stands on the brink of becoming yet another thug nation like Russia, a nation of greed that steals whatever it can get away with. The US is emerging as a villain on the world stage alongside Putin’s Russia, its emerging ally. This is nothing short of disgraceful.

It has been said many times by the talking heads of the mainstream media that the damage being done by Trump to our alliances with NATO and other allies will take decades to repair. I disagree. I think we can fix this in a single day with a single new and sane administration.

We will be welcomed back by a grateful and relieved world the minute the insane criminal Trump and his pirate ship “administration” is gone. The day that happens there will be a shout of liberation that will be heard around the world, and a celebration that will go on for weeks.
