Oops: Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham get their comeuppance for their criminal Trump-Russia antics

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Last week, Republican Senators Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham decided to commit a crime against the United States. There is no other legitimate way to characterize their decision to push for criminal charges against Trump Russia dossier author Christopher Steele, a man they know to be innocent, simply because Steele tried to expose Donald Trump’s crimes. This made Grassley and Graham co-conspirators in Trump’s treasonous Russia plot. It blew up in their faces today.

Grassley and Graham had spent all year pushing for Trump’s Russia plot to be exposed, but both have made shocking one-eighty degree turns in recent weeks. Suddenly they’re both willing and eager Trump puppets, which means they’re Russian puppets, which has led a whole lot of people to ask if they’re now being blackmailed by Russia. They pushed for criminal charges against Steele partly in an attempt at suppressing the long-lingering transcripts from Glenn Simpson, the man who hired Steele to assemble the dossier. That just backfired.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, went ahead and unilaterally released those transcripts to the public today. She did this without asking the Republican-controlled committee to vote on the matter, and without even notifying them. Her legal justification for doing so: none, really, except that all bets are now off anyway. With two of the most prominent Republicans on the committee now committing crimes to try to suppress the Trump-Russia investigation, there was really nothing left to prevent Feinstein from blowing it all up by releasing the transcripts.

Chuck Grassley is now publicly whining about Dianne Feinstein’s move, which means he has no idea how to respond, which means he’s lost this battle. Whether Grassley and Lindsey Graham have begun trying to prosecute Trump’s detractors because they’re being blackmailed, or simply because they wanted to join a treasonous conspiracy against the United States for fun, their efforts are already backfiring. They got their comeuppance today, and it’s just the start. If this continues to backfire on Graham and Grassley, they could end up in prison along with the rest of the traitors.
