Governor of Colorado slam dunks Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Yesterday Donald Trump gave a speech in which he announced that he was building a border wall between Colorado and New Mexico. This led to a day’s worth of punchlines about how Trump doesn’t even know which U.S. states are on the border, or where Colorado is. But Jared Polis, the Governor of Colorado, managed to land the most direct blow.

Governor Polis quoted a Denver Post headline that said “Trump says he’s building the wall in Colorado.” Polis then added “Well this is awkward …Colorado doesn’t border Mexico. Good thing Colorado now offers free full day kindergarten so our kids can learn basic geography.” Meanwhile, Trump was busy making things worse for himself, by tweeting whatever this is supposed to be:

(Kiddingly) We’re building a Wall in Colorado”(then stated, “we’re not building a Wall in Kansas but they get the benefit of the Wall we’re building on the Border”) refered to people in the very packed auditorium, from Colorado & Kansas, getting the benefit of the Border Wall!

This is a small but familiar example of Donald Trump doing something stupid, then later making it far worse for himself. For instance, he barely got away with criminally conspiring with Russia to rig the 2016 election in his favor, but now he’s definitely not getting away with trying to criminally conspire with Ukraine to rig the 2020 election in his favor. Trump is going to prison – perhaps even in Colorado.
