Government of Mexico pushes back against Ted Cruz

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I don’t know quite how Ted Cruz manages to do it. There are so many Republican nincompoops. But few get snickered at, ratioed, and openly laughed at like Ted Cruz. I think this might be because Cruz wades into so many things that really are none of his business. And at times, he seems to think that he’s winning the online talking points. Nothing could be further from the truth in that regard, but Ted and the facts don’t move in lockstep.

But this latest rebuke is nothing to sneeze at — because it’s from the Government of Mexico. As you know, Cruz is a big fan of Mexico or at least Cancun. After all, he did leave his state in the middle of one of their worst storms in history to go yuck it up in Cancun. And when he got called out, he blamed the whole thing on his children.

Cruz is now claiming there is “deepening Civil unrest” in Mexico. Per The Dallas News, Cruz says Mexico is “undermining the rule of law,” proving that Ted’s list of people to alienate is just as extensive as ever. The last person who should be speaking about that is Cruz, as Mexico clearly knows. So The Mexico Ambassador to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma, wrote Ted a letter.

“I invite you to look at what happened in our national election”, he wrote. “Without exception, all of the political parties accepted the results and got on with the task of strengthening our democracy and freedom of expression.”

Wow. What a pinata of gifts those words are! One wants to break out the Mariachi music just reading that. Wouldn’t it be nice if Ted Cruz could speak so eloquently? The bottom line is Cruz got a smack-down — big time — and likely doesn’t even have the intelligence to realize it. Perhaps he should speak a bit nicer of Mexico, considering he has shown he’d much rather be there than here — at least when the weather’s bad.
