GOP Senators just gave away something about Donald Trump’s downfall during leaked conference call
Yesterday Palmer Report pointed out that Donald Trump’s ongoing fantasy that he secretly won the election is actually making it harder for the Republicans to compete in the Georgia Senate runoffs. Trump has never been able to drive his supporters to vote for other Republicans when he himself wasn’t on the ballot, and that’s not going to improve now that he’s been defeated.
Now the two Republicans running in the runoff, Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, are privately admitting that Trump’s continued presence on the stage is endangering their prospects, according to a new report from the Washington Post. They made these remarks in the kind of private conference call that always leaks, so you have to wonder if they did this as a way of trying to place pressure on Trump to give up the ghost.
This comes amid the bizarre new scandal involving Lindsey Graham having tried and failed to coerce Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State to throw out legally cast ballots – a felony on Graham’s part that could end up being prosecuted once the DOJ is no longer under Trump’s control – is also giving the Republicans precisely the kinds of headlines they don’t want in Georgia.
