GOP Senator Ron Johnson goes off the rails as his reelection prospects wobble

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If one was lost in a forest, what would one do? Try to find shelter, I imagine. Try to build a fire and keep warm; try to find nourishment. Likewise, if one were losing bigly in a political Senatorial race, what would one do? The answer for Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson appears to be — try to lose even biglier.

Ron Johnson is in big-time trouble. Lost in a dark forest of denial, the man is in serious jeopardy of losing his bid for reelection, which is undoubtedly what we HOPE happens.

He is not helping himself at all. As the wolves howl, eager for his firing, Johnson has dug in on one of the most critical issues in our nation today — same-sex marriage. Johnson has declared he will not support the Senate’s marriage equality bill. Making matters worse, the mad Senator flip-flopped. In July, he said he had no reason to oppose it.

Johnson is off-track and wandering about aimlessly with this stance. Wisconsin is a purple state with a history of being MODERATE. And Wisconsin voters are not going to like this.

To be sure, Johnson has other issues, but this is a big one, and it will absolutely lose him votes, as long as people know what he said.

So, why not tell people? Johnson’s seat needs to be a pickup for us. And there is no reason it can’t be.

Ron Johnson is currently one of the most unpopular Senators in our country. He is unhinged, ignorant, and lazy. He also endorses quack conspiracy theories. The man needs to send an SOS to get reelected, but at this rate, I’m not even sure THAT would help him.

The bottom line is that Mr. Johnson is lost in a forest of his own making. He does not seem to be taking his reelection campaign at all seriously and our candidate, Mandela Barnes, is outstanding.

We are lucky this election year. ALL our Senatorial candidates are pretty incredible. And in Wisconsin, we have for an opponent a man who really cannot see the forest for the trees.

So let’s vote him out, get our candidate in, and add the state of Wisconsin to our pickups in November. As for Johnson, he can stay in the forest, running around mouthing off on subjects he knows virtually nothing about.
