GOP Senator David Perdue’s racist attack on Kamala Harris just cost him big time
Yesterday, Republican Senator David Perdue launched a bizarre racist attack on Kamala Harris, botching her first name and then proceeding to overtly make fun of her name. Given that Perdue and Harris have served together in the Senate for years, he knew darn well how to say her name, and he was just blowing a racist dog whistle. Now it’s cost him – and not just in the reputation department.
Perdue is in a tight reelection race against Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff in Georgia. Ossoff just announced that he’s raised more than a million dollars since Perdue’s racist rant yesterday:
Folks! We’ve raised $1M (!) since my opponent disgraced himself with bigoted mockery of Kamala’s name at yesterday’s Trump rally.
Can we make it $2M by midnight?https://t.co/zi5Wxg0VYrhttps://t.co/Of6btUaAQD
