GOP primary debate turns into Jerry Springer style shouting match disaster

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It was the fight to end all fights. Not Jerry Springer but close enough. I speak of the Republican candidates for the Ohio Senate. This contest was always going to be a shit-show. That much we knew. However, it reached new and exciting levels of shit the other night as one of the guests at the Republican Ohio debate went bonkers and threatened to attack another guest.

Josh Mandel is one of the GOP’s candidates. Mike Gibbons is another. Mandel and Gibbons got into it when Mandel accused Gibbons of profiting off of deals with China. Gibbons was none too happy with the accusation and told Mandel, “You never have.. you have never been in the private sector in your entire life.” Uh-Oh. Faster than you could say, “Cuckoo,” Mandel lost it.

Mandel got in the face of Gibbons and declared, “Don’t tell me I haven’t worked.:”

“You don’t know squat,” Gibbons replied.

“You are dealing with the wrong guy,” Mandel whispered feverishly.

Then Mandel spoke the magic word, the word heard all over Ohio, the word that shows the depth of the GOP and what they’re willing to do for power.

“P*ssy,” Mandel whispered hoarsely. A debate official eventually separated the two nutters. At least nobody got arrested. This exchange was viewed with delight on Twitter. Here are some of the best responses:

“Kiss, kiss”

“I love Trump more, no, I love Trump more…”

“Jer-ree, Jer-ree”

“WTF — do they think they’re at a school board meeting?”

“Republicans in disarray”

“WWE — Republican style”

And the absolute best — “Waiting for Chuck Todd to say, “this is really bad news for the Democrats.”

So yes, folks — these are the reptiles we have running in Ohio under the GOP ticket. One of these nimrods will actually win. Whether it is Hawley or Gibbons, or Vance — one of them will be on the ticket in the midterms. So let’s get behind Tim Ryan, the Democrat running in Ohio.
