GOP official tips off that he expects to be criminally indicted by Fani Willis

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

With Jack Smith now just days away from indicting Donald Trump on federal charges related to the 2020 election, we can’t forget that Fulton County DA Fani Willis is perhaps just a couple weeks away from bringing state level charges in relation to the 2020 election.

We got a reminder of that today when David Shafer, the former Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, and a “fake elector” in Georgia, filed a thirteen page letter with Fani Willis, arguing why he shouldn’t be criminally indicted. In other words, Shafer is tipping off that he fully expects to be indicted.

Notably, Fani Willis has already cut immunity deals with several other Georgia fake electors in exchange for their cooperation against the bigger fish in the probe. It’s not clear if Shafer was offered an immunity deal, and if so, why he didn’t take it. But given that Willis gave immunity to the fake electors who were willing to cooperate, it seems obvious that she intends to indict any fake electors who declined to cooperate.

Michigan criminally indicted all sixteen of its “fake electors” this week. It’s not clear if any of them were offered, or sought, cooperation deals. It’s also not yet been confirmed whether the Michigan probe will continue working its way up the chain to Donald Trump and his underlings. But it is clear that Fani Willis is targeting everyone involved, from the non-cooperating fake electors all the way up to Trump.

We still don’t know how all of this plays into the 2020 election related charges that Jack Smith and the DOJ are planning to bring. Will the “fake electors” in various states also be criminally indicted on federal charges? We’ll see. But for now, it’s clear that the non-cooperating fake electors in Georgia expect to get indicted any day now, and are taking their last legal shots before indictment accordingly.
