GOP in disarray

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Have you noticed lately that the GOP seems to be in major disarray? It seems every day there is another horrible story about another horrible Republican doing another horrible thing.

This is definitely not the moment of triumph Republicans likely thought they would have. They thought winning the midterms would be a slam dunk — that it would be easy. But we’re here to tell them that is not the case.

The gaffes that many republicans have had just in the last WEEK are extraordinary — extraordinarily stupid, that is. The GOP is falling apart in real-time. We’ve got Republicans pushing for a national abortion ban, even though the majority of the country does not want that.

We’ve got idiotic Congresspeople like Gym Jordan denying the existence of ten-year-old pregnant girls. We have Congressmen (and women)up to their necks in insurrection. And we have horrible — truly nightmarish — candidates on the Republican side like Herschel Walker and Mehmet Oz.

The GOP has no strategy. They’re coming across to the American people like a bunch of smug and self-satisfied power-hungry animals, which I suppose they are. And in the background of all of this looms Donald Trump.

Like an omnipresent shadow of doom, he looms, a stark reminder to Republicans that as bad as things are — they might just get that much worse. If Trump really does announce a fake candidacy, that will be the worst nightmare for Republicans. The midterms then become all about Trump — the last thing they want.

In the meantime, Democrats are coming across as mature and responsible adults. The contrast could not be more clear. We’re poised on the edge of victory. It is going to take hard work and lots of activism. But we are getting help in unusual places. We’re getting help from the Republicans, who prove daily that they’re utterly incompetent and should never be allowed to hold power again.
