GOP hits the panic button at prospect of DOJ prosecuting Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Republicans are literally falling all over themselves trying to protect their failed dictator, Donald Trump. According to multiple reports, the SERVANTS OF TRUMP have told the Justice Department that any attempts to prosecute assolini would be considered wholly partisan and politically motivated.

I’m sure that must scare the Justice Department a great deal. Obviously, that was sarcasm. But does one really think that the man who brought down Timothy McVeigh is going to say, “I better not prosecute! The GOP won’t like me if I do.”

Perhaps that sounds a bit simplistic, but after all, that’s precisely what it is. What is worth talking about is WHY the Republicans chose now to do this. Trump’s been in the news a lot lately for all the wrong reasons. Multiple investigations are going on, both civil and criminal ones.

So it stands to reason that the GOP might be getting a bit antsy that their messiah might really be arrested. After all, they have shown that their single biggest priority is protecting the person of one, Donald Trump. Perhaps Trump even asked some of these Republicans to do this. We can’t know that for sure, of course, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

This is nothing but a pathetic attempt to scare Garland and the Justice Department. It won’t work. These are seasoned and professional prosecutors who have seen it all. A bunch of simpering little cowards like these Republicans will not scare any of these prosecutors.

They likely do think that since their fear tactics have worked on many a voter. It’s particularly striking to see this play out against the backdrop of such extraordinary bravery of the Ukrainian people. Courage takes no prisoners, while fear takes many. And right now, though Trump is not yet in jail, these Republicans certainly are. Their chains are heavy and rattling. And their jailer is Donald Trump.
