GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin is already falling apart

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Sometimes the good guys win. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has only been in office a short time but is already creating chaos in the state. Youngkin appears to be governing in the spirit of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis — never a good idea. One of the more idiotic moves by Youngkin was to eliminate school mask mandates. Some schools were outraged, and many defied him and kept these mandates in place anyway. And some school boards sued the Governor.

I’ll give Youngkin this — he sure is a lightning rod of controversy. Perhaps if he thought for himself and stopped trying to score cheap political points, the controversy would go away.

But now a Virginia Judge has halted the ban in some excellent news for science-believing Virginians. This news is bound to piss off Youngkin, but if I were him, I’d be concentrating on staying out of the news for a few days — something that has yet to happen.

It is also being reported that Youngkin’s approval ratings are slowly trickling downward. Apparently, people are having buyers’ remorse.

This really shouldn’t surprise anybody who actually listened to what Youngkin was saying he wanted to do with the Old Dominion state. Virginia is stuck with the loopy Governor for the next few years at least. But with this ruling, Virginia’s children just became a little bit safer.
