Goodbye Rudy Giuliani!
When Sidney Powell pleaded guilty today and agreed to testify against everyone, it was obviously bad news for a number of people. It means that Donald Trump’s attempt at keeping his co-defendants loyal to him has failed. It also means Kenneth Chesebro, who is set to go on trial as soon as tomorrow, has some decisions to make.
But the biggest loser here might be Rudy Giuliani. We’re now going to see Giuliani’s close associate Sidney Powell testify against Giuliani at his upcoming criminal trial. Rudy has previously floated the notion that his trial defense was going to be centered around blaming it all on Powell. But now Powell is going to be there testifying about what the two of them did together.
Rudy Giuliani keeps finding ways to lose in every way possible. He’s already been hit with summary judgments in his civil cases. He appears to be broke. He’s been indicted in Fulton County. And he appears to be in line for indictment at the hands of Jack Smith. Now Rudy has Sidney Powell set to testify against him. Rudy can either cut his own deal against Trump, or Rudy can take a very ugly fall – all the way to spending the rest of his life in prison.
