Good news for Liz Cheney, bad news for Trumpublicans

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Orange trees produce breathtakingly sweet-smelling orange blossoms. But it’s a slow process. It actually takes between five and eighteen months for an orange to ripen into brightness. The waiting is long and often tedious. There are no instant results.

Political campaigns are similar in their processes. The work is long. The wait can seem to take forever. But when the process finishes playing itself out, the results can often be sweet — very sweet. And for one politician in Wyoming, some results are blossoming.

Republicans want Rep. Liz Cheney out. This is because Cheney is one of the few Republicans who isn’t insane. She is not corrupted by the big lie. She is fighting for truth. She isn’t someone I’d ever vote for but what she IS, is one of the last honest Republicans standing.

And Republicans fear her. So, it will be unwelcome news for them that Liz Cheney has just set a personal record. She has out-fundraised — herself. The money is pouring in. For the first quarter of 2022, Cheney’s reported numbers are — $2.94 million. Jaw-dropping. Her total stands now at over $10 MILLION.

Cheney has amassed a war chest — a fundraising bonanza, the result of slow and very deliberate work.

This is not a woman who plays on Twitter, firing off vulgar tweets for shock effect. This is a politician who WORKS — she does the hard work, and from a financial perspective, it appears it’s paid off.

Many of Cheney’s financial contributions are coming from out of state. All of this news does not, of course, ensure Cheney will be able to keep her seat. But it gives her an advantage — an advantage obtained by steely-eyed focus and hard work — two things the Republicans seem to have forgotten how to do.
