Good news for Joe Biden

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If you ask Donald Trump, he’ll tell you that there’s only one measure of popularity: attention. Of course he doesn’t get that a whole lot of people only watch his incoherent press briefings and read his deranged tweets because they can’t look away from the train wreck – and that kind of attention doesn’t exactly help with legitimate metrics like approval ratings.

That said, there are still plenty of pundits who have insisted that Donald Trump is somehow more popular than Joe Biden because he has more Twitter followers than Joe Biden does. The good news for Biden is that he’s now gaining followers in short order. Just a couple months ago he only had about five million followers. Now he’s spiked all the way to 7.3 million followers, a sign that a rapidly increasing number of people are interested in what he has to say.

Trump will still surely brag that he still has more Twitter followers than Joe Biden does. But if we’re going to use that metric out of context, Trump should be reminded that President Barack Obama has 36 million more followers than Trump does.
